Coolidge Arizona - As the song describes, Coolidge is a warm town with wonderful people. It's the kind of small town that any one could wish they had grown up in.
It really is somewhere between a mesquite tree and a river. The river is called the Gila river, because of the Gila River Indian comunity who's history goes deep into Arizona's past. But even long before them were the Hohokam Indians, who developed a rather rich comunity and culture too. The Hohokam left us what is now a National Park known as the Casa Grande Ruins. Casa Grande means Big House.
The streets in the song are real and the experiences are real. There should be no doubt that I truely care about this old small town somewhere between a river and a musquite tree.
